I'm sure you guys are aware about what happened to the long term partnership of Walgreens and Express Scripts. Express Scripts acts as a middleman between pharmacies providing the health care service and employers and health plans who pay for the medications. It's too sad to see two big companies to depart but of course there's always a valid reason behind this. It is said that the negotiations between the two companies went unsuccessful due to some conflicts which lead to Walgreens decision to terminate it's partnership with Express Scripts.
This might be some sort a sad news for the customers because most of them are depending on the discounted prescription rates which they are able to secure through Express Scripts. It could also be a big ease for most people especially those Average wage earners because they may find it hard to budget their monthly salary especially if they don't have any benefits or discounts offered by the pharmacy Benefit manager.
It's true that most customers will be very disappointed about this but of course, Walgreens has something to offer for their beloved customers to ease their burden and that is through their Prescription Savings Club. Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens offers special discounts. For $10 a year, a family membership covers everyone in your immediate family, including a spouse, dependents 22 and younger and pets. Individuals may join for $5. In addition to that, you can also save more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications through this offering. It also offer amazing discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies. See? Walgreens decision to terminate their contract with Express Scripts is not that devastating at all knowing that they do have more exciting discounts , benefits and privileges to offer.
